- Register with http://ebay.com When you register create a user ID and password. Your ID will identify you to other eBay users as you conduct business. I recommend customizing your user ID to be relevant to your product niche. For example if you’re selling car parts then your ID could be something like “I love car parts” or if you’re selling hand bags your ID could be “amazing hand bags”. When you’re done document your eBay username and password in a safe place!
- Register to sell. Click on the “Sell” on the eBay homepage and you’ll be guided through the steps. You have to be registered with eBay and have an ID and password before you can register to sell.
- Set up your free Business Premium http://paypal.com merchant account. This is the primary method of accepting payment from your customers through eBay.
- Before you start selling DO YOU RESEARCH and determine if your product has a high probability to selling! Here are some research tools to utilize before you start selling on eBay:
- Observing the “Completed Listings” section inside eBay. To access the “completed listings” on eBay login to your account first and then click on “Advanced Search”. Enter in the product you are interested in selling in the box provided and check the “completed listings only “ box. You need to be a registered user to to access the “completed listings” section which will help you answer questions such as:
- Do these items sell and are people bidding on them? You’ll know whether the items sell by the numbers of bids next to the auctions. If there’s a dash (-) next to the item, the item did not have any bids.
- What are the starting and closing prices for these items? This will help you determine the starting price to begin auctioning your item on eBay.
- What’s hot? Search the sold listing data directly on eBay.
