Millionaire success habits comprise of a list of conscious action steps repeatedly done by high achievers throughout the world to maximize success in all areas of life. Ten examples of millionaire success habits consist of:
- Developing an inspiring life & business vision
- Pursuing a life mission
- Fostering a positive mental attitude
- Mastering the skill of how to delegate effectively
- Going the extra mile
- Successfully implementing the 5 steps of clearing limiting beliefs
- Forging strong relationships
- Automating the savings and investments of financial goals
- Turning temporary failure into opportunity
- Following a meaningful morning & evening routine
And the list goes on. That 10th point above is what I want to talk about today.
Aristotle is famous for saying…
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit“. I’ve definitely found that to be true. The major reason why high performing millionaires achieve excellence in any regard, including financial and economical freedom, is because they’ve repeatedly done certain things that have turned into success habits that other people have not taken the time to develop themselves.
One of those success habits that well-rounded millionaires repeatedly do each day is that they follow a powerful morning routine. And many also have created a transformational evening routine to follow. Additionally, daily success routines are the #1 active ingredient that has helped shape the success of my life along with the 3,253 students who I have mentored over the past 8 years.
How I First Started Developing Millionaire Success Habits
It wasn’t until May of 1996 that I started to realize for the first time in my life the powerful positive impact having a morning routine would have on me. I chose to go on a service mission for my Church over to Germany. Every day for 2 years thereafter I found myself going through a step by step process every morning and night that consisted in summary of prayer, study, exercise, planning and nutritional eating habits.
As I stuck with my routine each day as best I could, I saw my mind & heart becoming aligned with my goals. My environment was primed to allow me to receive higher levels of inspiration that I needed to create a greater impact among the German people I was sent to help. I learned that before I can truly lift someone up to higher ground I had to strengthen myself first before I could effectively & consistently help another. The source of that power to influence others in a more impactful way came from what I did during my morning and evening routines.
The routines I went through & still go through each morning and night have been refined since then and customized to my life as I got married and had 5 children. So if you’re just getting started with establishing your morning and evening routines just know that getting started is key. Get the ball rolling in the right direction. Get started. Practice makes progress.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said…
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed but that our power to do has increased”
In other words our “muscle memory” strengthens over time. As you discover other millionaire success habits and repeatedly persist you’ll be amazed the type of person you’ll become.
Now I’ll share with you what I currently include in my morning and evening success routines. And you’re more than welcome to use any of my daily routines as your own.
6 millionaire success habits I include in my morning routine
- Meditate/Stretch/Pray – Talk with God, express gratitude, counsel with Him about my day and life.
- 10 minutes
- Hydrate – I usually drink 20 ounces of water with a 1/2 lemon of freshly squeeze juice.
- 10 minutes
- Educate – I’ll read whatever I have next on my reading list of the best books of all time.
- 30 minutes
- Journal out my dreams, reflections inside of my success journal.
- 10 minutes
- Workout morning with wife & kids – Fun, guided work-outs, short duration high intensity exercises
- 30 minutes
- Make nutritious breakfast while reviewing top 3 daily priorities on calendar
- 30 minutes
Total: 2 hours for morning routine (6 am to 8am)
Not a morning person? Don’t give up!
I usually get up around 6:00 AM after getting 6-7 hours of sleep. It’s up to you when you get up. While there is definitely power in getting up early it’s very difficult to do to begin with for many people unless there’s a big “why” or motivating factor involved. I don’t want to discourage you to wake up early, but you might work toward developing that early to rise thing a bit later. Instead you could first focus on what you can realistically accomplish consistently to start with.
The idea here is if you’ve never really had any type of inspiring morning/evening routine the key is to start off simple. Grow gracefully at the speed you have strength. There’s wisdom in listening to your body and doing what works for you instead of forcing yourself to all of a sudden wake up at 4 AM.
My 6 step evening routine
The evening routine for me is such a great time to wind down and reflect. While I don’t always nail this evening routine perfectly every day, I do notice a huge difference in my daily productivity & energy levels when I do go through it. As I mentioned earlier in this article, it’s all about striving to get better. And that is what we should be more interested in I believe.
- Hydrate about 1 hour before bed. Sometimes I eat a small snack or protein drink if I worked out hard that day.
- 10 mins
- Record thoughts in success journal. What did I learn today that helped me come closer to my goals in life?
- 10 mins
- Reflect upon…What daily micro steps should I have implemented today but didn’t? What do I need to reschedule and prioritize for tomorrow? Update Google calendar.
- 10 mins
- Review…What are the top three most important action steps I need to do tomorrow? Will they bring be closer to the fulfillment of my long-short term goals? Update Google calendar.
- 10 mins
- Allow myself to ponder & record answers to this question: What inspiration & ideas do I have about the day?
- 10 mins
- Meditate & Pray – Talk with God, express gratitude, counsel with Him about my day and life.
- 10 mins
Total: 1 hour for evening routine (10 pm to 11 pm)
The small things lead to great successes
To see more success with being able to stay consistent with your morning/evening routines consider implementing one habit at a time each month. Stack one habit on top of another as you move forward. So instead of trying to turn all 6 routine actions into millionaire success habits in one month, take one and start with that first. Stay as consistent as you can with that one routine task for one month and then introduce another routine action the next month and so on. Doing so is a recipe for success I have found. It helps you avoid burn out. As you move forward over the next 6 months you will have leveraged the power of stacking habits to your favor.
Developing Millionaire Success Habits Takes Time
I believe that implementing a morning and evening routines is all about helping each of us get the most out of life each and every day. Period. We’ll have plenty of days where the routine isn’t followed perfectly. There will be days where we get sick, or go on vacation or whatever else. The bottom line is to get back on the horse if you fall off and keep riding.
Your morning/evening routines will anchor you to what matters most in life and harmonize the beauty of what life has to offer you. And ultimately the routines each morning & evening are there to help you fulfill your personal potential in life. It’s critical to believe in yourself as you set long/short-term goals and persist after your dreams despite any obstacles. Anything worthwhile in life will involve struggle. It’s natural to struggle. Embrace it and move on despite as you take your voice and share it with the world in your own way.
Share your voice with the world
As you take action refining your morning/evening routines you’ll become inspired with unique ideas you can take action on. You can gain clarity into discovering your unique voice or talents that you can share with people. And ultimately how you serve other people with your unique gifts and skills can lead you to leaving a legacy you’re proud of.
Too many people die with the music still inside them. Don’t let that be you. Listen to your intuitive inner voice. Find what passion stirs your soul and set clear goals and go after your dreams. Your daily routines each day will help you do that if structured and implemented as consistently as possible. You’ll become more focused. The millionaire success habit of prioritizing tasks for the win each day will become easier. Levels of joy and happiness will increase higher than you ever thought possible.
